Template Properties

Template Properties are essential for defining categorical or “meta-data” linked to your templates. They consist of concise pairs of data labels, such as “Start Date,” accompanied by corresponding input fields, such as “20-Dec-23.”

When project users utilise your templates to create forms, they gain access to these properties in the ProjectDeck Grids on the Project Pages. This makes Template Properties a powerful tool for searching, filtering, sorting, and grouping information.

You can employ properties in one of two primary ways:

  1. Primary Use: As a Lifecycle Admin designing a template, you can leave the properties input field blank. This empowers your project users to input data into the field when they create a form using this template.
  2. Secondary Use: As a Lifecycle Admin designing a template, you can populate the properties input field yourself. This ensures that every form generated from your template includes this predetermined data. This is particularly valuable if you intend to assign a permanent category to every form using this template, such as “Department: Commercial”.

You can access template properties from the “Properties” tab within the ProjectDeck Template Designer.

The image below displays all available properties that can be incorporated into your template designs.
